WHY WE LAUNCHED EFPHONETAXI (ANTI-KIDNAPPING, PHONE ANTI-THEFT SOLUTION)
One of the commonest but often overlooked crimes in the world today is mobile phone theft. It is estimated that 70 million smartphones are lost each year, with only seven percent recovered.
The current estimate of 25-40 million smartphone users in Nigeria unscored the urgent need to protect phone and owner’s data. Unfortunately, phones sometimes are useful tools in the hands of criminals. Criminals now target Smartphones because of the sensitive data on them for nefarious activities while, kidnapping for ransoms are aided by the use of phones.
It’s in the quest to bridge the information technology security gaps in Africa that inspired E.F. Network to launch Efphonetaxi in Nigeria on October 20, 2020 as a security counter-measure to phone theft with anti-kidnapping tool.
